Barry Harley had spent the last decade forging a great career with a Fortune 500 company. But his real goal was to work for himself. The ability to build something for himself and his family was paramount in order to have the type of lifestyle they truly desired.
Barry decided to learn more about how to make this a reality and stumbled upon the Franchising 101 Podcast Series. After listening to the podcasts on a long drive, he quickly scheduled a call with the FranCoach team.
FranCoach helped identify what Barry wanted in a business and introduced him to three franchise options. One of the three Barry was very unsure of but was committed to the process of at least having a first call with each franchise.
As often happens, the franchise Barry initially liked the least rapidly rose to the top of his list and ultimately became the franchise he was awarded. That franchise is The Grounds Guys.
The Grounds Guys provide commercial, residential, and municipal property maintenance and landscaping services; snow removal services (depending on location); junk, trash, and debris removal; landscape design; horticultural services, namely, sod installation, lawn and vegetation fertilization and treatment; and other related services and products.
Barry loved the chance to build a big business based on quality services while being able to build and mentor a team. He was also impressed by the overall support and culture of The Grounds Guys and their parent company, Neighborly.
