Hyrum and Natalie Osguthorpe were working full-time while expecting their first baby yet motivated to also become entrepreneurs. As an engineer and real estate professional respectively, they provided a nice balance for one another as both process driven and great communicators. Their challenge was to find a franchise opportunity that could tap into both of their strengths while providing them the type of support they would need as first-time, semi-absentee owners.
As part of their due diligence, Hyrum found the Franchising 101 Podcast and was quick to schedule a call with the FranCoach team. The duo hopped into the Discovery Process with an open mind and began the franchisor vetting process. Two of the three options the FranCoach team started them with showed particular promise but only one of them would be the ultimate match. After attending a Discovery Day with The Grounds Guys, the couple knew they had found their path.
The Grounds Guys provide commercial, residential, and municipal property maintenance and landscaping services; snow removal services (depending on location); junk, trash, and debris removal; landscape design; horticultural services, namely, sod installation, lawn, and vegetation fertilization and treatment; and other related services and products.
Hyrum and Natalie were especially impressed with the overall level of support from the franchisor and their parent company, Neighborly. They were excited about having a business with a wide array of high-quality services they could provide their long-term customers.
The Osguthorpe's have a busy next few months with baby number one on the way in October and then launching their new business in the Salt Lake City area at the beginning of 2022.
Please join us in congratulating Hyrum and Natalie on their new baby AND new franchise and wish them all the best with both.
