Richard Nordstrom, Al Rubio, and Tony Sangelo wanted to own a business together. They had worked together in the past and were familiar with the franchising world from their time at Domino's. The trio ideally wanted a fast-casual pizza franchise but were open to exploring other options as well.
While their initial vetting did include a fast-casual pizza franchise, there was a non-pizza option that quickly became their favorite. Teriyaki Madness (TMAD) ultimately won the guys over. TMAD impressed Rich, Al, and Tony with the comprehensive systems, their training and support, the TMAD culture, and of course the food.
Rich, Al, and Tony were awarded a three-unit development opportunity in Raleigh, NC and will be opening the first store later in 2019. The guys also used FranCoach partner Guidant Financial for a SBA loan and the ROBS program to fund their dream.
Congrats to Rich, Al, and Tony! The next time you are in the Raleigh area bring your appetite to their new Teriyaki Madness location.
