We’re excited to announce the newest owner of The Grounds Guys: Hamza Agallah. After a long career working on the employee side of the franchisor group Yum! Brands, Hamza is excited to be on the other side of the equation.

Having witnessed other franchisees succeed for years, Hamza wanted to find that level of success for himself – and after happening upon the Franchising 101 Podcast, he reached out to FranCoach for help.

Who Is Hamza Agallah?

Born in Morocco, Hamza lived internationally before he came to the United States. When he first arrived in the country, he didn’t speak a word of English – but he got a job in the service industry and built himself up to gain a long-term career working with Yum! Brands franchises. Yum! Brands is the parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell.

In his previous positions, Hamza particularly enjoyed being able to be involved directly in the work rather than just strategizing and driving change. He prefers being on the ground running things over desk jobs and sedentary meetings. As an extroverted people person, Hamza loves building strong connections and interacting with customers face-to-face.

Why Did Hamza Make a Career Change?

After many years working in the franchise system, Hamza had seen how much success others had been able to achieve, and he wanted to accomplish that same end for himself. He had no interest in getting another hourly job – he wanted to gain back control over his life and make a strong salary to support himself and his family.

But Hamza wasn’t sure if he could afford to become a franchise owner – with his experience concentrated on Yum! Brands, he had only seen more expensive franchise options, and he didn’t have the $2 million necessary to own a Pizza Hut. That’s when he came upon the Franchising 101 podcast, where he learned more about accessible franchise brands.
